My character's name is Hal Jordan and his code name is "Green Lantern"
Were before he became a superhero he was a Air Force pilot. Then meets a dying alien part of a Intergalactic Police Department know as the "Green Lanterns" and he is brought in to this world to take this aliens place as a part of this group.

Chapter 4 "The Self and Interaction"
Socialization- The process of learning and internalizing the values, beliefs, and norms of our social group, by which we become functioning members of society.
You can find this on Page 101.
The way this involves my character is because when Hal lived on earth he was rash and arrogant, he wasn't a man he didn't push through adversity he ran away from it. When Hal went to train with the "Lanterns" it was hard for him and he tried to quit. But after a while there social beliefs and values started rubbing off on him and he eventually became the mightiest of lanterns.

Chapter 6 "Deviance"
Stigma- Anything physical or social attribute that devalues a person or group's identity and that may exclude those who are devalued from normal social interaction.
You can find this on Page. 161
The reason this relates to Green Lantern is not exactly about him, but more about The Green Lanterns as a group. Well the Lanterns draw there power from the source of courage. But one founder of the lanterns thought a different power source would be better and it's called fear. Which is more powerful, but unpredictable. So along with fighting bad guys they have to fight fear and the bad lanterns that choose to use it. Not to mention the stigma that the lanterns are weak for letting that happen to there group.

Chapter 8 "Race and Ethnicity as Lived Experience"
Embodied Identity-Those elements of identity that are generated through others' perceptions of our physical traits.
You can find this on Page.226
The reason this work so well with the Green Lanterns is because not all Lanterns are human Hal is actually the only human lantern because there is one lantern for each spices. But there rings and suits are what unify them under one cause, they became one. All evil doers see the green and black flying at them and it only signing's one thing.

Chapter 10 "The Macro-Micro Link in Social Institutions"
Authority-The legitimate, noncoercive excise of power.
You can find this on Page 281.
Well authority could probably work with every super hero, but I think it works with Green Lantern and the group of Green Lanterns the best. There also called the Intergalactic Police Department. So they are literally a authority and they use there power to create order among each of there galaxies.

Chapter 7 "Social Classes: The Structure of Inequality"
Upper Class-An elite and largely self-sustaining group who posses most of the country's wealth; they constitute about 1 percent of the U.S. population.
You can find this on Page 187.
I watched the Green Lantern movie and it looks there is a upper class because when Hal was there training with Sinestro( looks like he is the leader of the upper class) he said that humans are a lower species and told Hal he didn't deserve the honor and treated Hal like a piece of crap.
